About us – the mission of the Democratic Party of Taylor County is to promote democratic and progressive principles and to elect democratic and progressive candidates- from town halls to the White House.

General meetings are held monthly on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 p.m., location to be announced prior. It’s an opportunity to meet members, participate in discussion, hear from political candidates and other speakers with expertise, ideas and opinions about current issues. We also host or promote other educational and social activities to further our goals, along with having a number of volunteer opportunities. Join us! Our next meeting is Monday, November 10th – at the Francis L Simek Library (large meeting room).

Pro-democracy protests are scheduled for:
Saturday, October 25th, 2025
Saturday, November 1st, 8th, and 22nd
-We will gather across from the Medford Farmers Market
-At the intersection of Highway 64 and 13
-Between the hours of 9 – 12.
-Park and gather where the old Dollar Store was. Please do not park in front of Shoe Sensation.
-This will be a silent protest, so get your glorious signs ready for our BIG event.

These 30-minute Zoom sessions will be offered several times a week this summer and fall. They’ll discuss the specifics of the nomination process, as well as the requirements and basics of being a poll worker, and you can ask any questions that you might have.

About the office: Members of the Wisconsin State Assembly serve two-year terms and are not subject to term limits. Wisconsin legislators assume office the first Monday in January following the election, unless the first Monday of January falls on January 1 or 2. In those cases, legislators assume office on January 3.
Qualifications:
Section 6 of Article 4 of the Wisconsin Constitution states, “No person shall be eligible to the legislature who shall not have resided one year within the state, and be a qualified elector in the district which he may be chosen to represent.”
